Talon and Kite Sweep the 450SX Podium in Houston
Houston, Texas was the site of the final Triple Crown format race of the 2019 Monster Energy Supercross season, and once again the 450SX podium was full of riders who rely on Talon, Kite, D.I.D and Excel wheel components! Cooper Webb carried the red plate into Houston and right away made his case with a 2nd place finish in the first main event. He went on to win the second and completed the trio with a third place finish, which was more than enough to take the overall victory aboard his Kite Elite/D.I.D STX equipped KTM. Webb’s KTM Factory Racing teammate Marvin Musquin joined him with the 2nd place overall position after winning the final main event. But the thrill of the night came when Dean Wilson pulled out the 3rd place overall finish after hitting the podium in two out of three main events. This was the first podium of the season for Wilson, who rides Talon Ultra-Light hubs laced to Excel A60 rims.
Meanwhile, in the 250SX class, Dylan Ferrandis took the overall top honors after going 2-1-2 in the three races. The Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha racer rides Kite Elite hubs and Excel Takasago wheels on his Yamaha YZ250F. Teammate Colt Nichols finished 3rd overall on the night.
Next up, a trip to Music City for Round 14 of the Supercross series. This time it was Blake Baggett leading the way for Dubya-supported racers with a 2nd place overall finish. The Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/WPS/KTM racer runs Talon Ultra-Light hubs and Excel Takasago rims on his KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition. Points leader Cooper Webb joined him on the podium with a 3rd place performance. In the 250SX East competition Justin Cooper hit pay dirt with a 3rd place finish aboard his Kite/Excel equipped Yamaha YZ250F.
Just two rounds remain (Denver and New Jersey) before the season finale in Las Vegas. Will Cooper Webb hold onto his lead in the standings to claim his first career 450SX Championship title?
